Alexander Rocca
Graduate Student Summer Fellow, IGS; Mechanical Engineering, College of Engineering
Alexander Rocca, a 2026 Graduate Summer Fellow at the Boston University Institute for Global Sustainability (IGS), is a MS student in Mechanical Engineering in the College of Engineering. Rocca is investigating how the polymer composition of a novel carbon dioxide sorbent material governs heat transfer through integrated experimental measurement and computational modeling. This work aims to advance the energy efficiency of carbon removal systems.
His faculty advisor is Sean Lubner (Assistant Professor, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering) and his project is titled “Investigating Thermal Transport in Metal–Organic Framework – Polymer Composites to Improve Direct Air Capture of Carbon Dioxide Efficiency.“
