Roberto Rösner, an advisory board member for the Boston University Institute for Global Sustainability (IGS), is Head of Energy and Commodity Management at Enel North America, Inc., where he leads the company’s energy commodity business across the United States and Canada. In this role, he oversees trading, origination, risk management, and customer operations for utility-scale renewable energy projects, including those with integrated storage solutions. His work ensures the successful execution of innovative Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and offtake structures that drive revenue growth and advance the clean energy transition.

Since joining Enel North America in 2011, Mr. Rösner has held multiple leadership roles in trading, commercialization, and energy management. With over 15 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, he has successfully structured and negotiated agreements representing over 1.5 GW of installed capacity. His expertise extends to market analysis, regulatory affairs, commercial strategy, and risk management. Mr. Rösner’s ability to build strong partnerships with utilities, corporate buyers, and wholesale market participants has been instrumental in expanding Enel’s market presence.

Previously, Mr. Rösner led energy trading operations for Central and Eastern Europe at Enel Trade S.p.A. in Budapest, Hungary, where he developed innovative trading strategies and managed relationships with key stakeholders. He holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Turin and an MBA with high honors from Boston University’s Questrom School of Business.

Fluent in English, Italian, and Hungarian, Mr. Rösner brings a global perspective to the energy industry. A strong advocate for sustainable development, he regularly represents Enel North America at industry stakeholder events, sharing insights into market trends and contributing to the advancement of forward-thinking strategies in renewable energy.
