Returning in January 2026 is our (mostly) annual event that allows PhD students, other dissertating graduate students, masters and professional students with projects or pitches to present, to share their work and research with the greater BU community. This event will include and welcome presentations that include:
- Three-Minute Thesis (3MT) Presentations by PhD students (and those completing dissertations), including an opportunity to participate in further, regional 3MT competitions later in 2026
- Opportunties for all graduate and professional students to submit projects or pitches for projects that meet guidelines (coming in October) for sharing in a Three-Minute Project/Pitch (3MP) format, with recognition at the BU level for the highest scoring presentaitons
- Share posters on academic research or academic projects that meet criteria we will share in the upcoming call for submissions
The BU Graduate Research Showcase aims to provide an opportunity for PhD, masters, and professional students across BU to share their research or academic/design/proposal projects with faculty and students alike, learn about the ongoing research being conducted by colleagues and peers across the university, and network with potential collaborators and mentors. The research showcase will highlight the final rounds of our Three-Minute Thesis and Three-Minute Project Competitions, a poster session, skills sessions presented by peers, and a keynote address. The 2023 PhD on Tap keynote address, “From Balancing Act to Integration: Integrating Research and Practice Into an Academic Career,” was delivered by Dr. Lauren Easterling, PhD, then from the Indiana University School of Medicine – and now at BU leading our GPS team.
