Jeanne Kelley has been in the field of international education for over 20 years. She began her employment at the ELS Language Centers assisting with immigration processing, intercultural programming and admissions for ESL programs after completing a Bachelor of Arts degree from Clark University in International Relations. She expanded her professional expertise in immigration processing when she began employment at the ISSO while concurrently completing a Master of Science degree in International/Mass Communication at Boston University. She was appointed Director of the ISSO in September 2002 where she manages a team providing immigration sponsorship and support services to nearly 8,000 international students and scholars. She advises international students, scholars, and university departments on immigration issues and specializes in institutional policy formulation, nonimmigrant employment matters and federal compliance. Jeanne has been an active member of the NAFSA community by serving on national committees regarding immigration policy and practice and has been invited to chair and present numerous workshops and sessions involving advocacy and immigration processing in higher education. While she enjoys the challenges and the rewards of working with international students and scholars, she spends her free time routing for Boston sports teams, exploring the mountains and the beaches of New England and traveling to new international destinations.
