Quizzes in CH102 are given during lecture time on Tuesdays as listed on the schedule. Tuesday quizzes are only given at the scheduled day and time. There will be a total of five Tuesday quizzes, and the four (4) best Tuesday quizzes will count towards your course grade. All students must take the final quiz. Topics will be posted at the end of the week prior to the quiz.
Your are required to abide by the following quiz and exam regulations:
Boston University treats cheating with zero tolerance. All students in CH102 are expected to maintain the highest degree of academic integrity, and you are responsible for being aware of the contents of the Boston University Academic Conduct Code. The consequences of cheating are at a minimum that the score for work on which cheating occurs counts as 0, and all instances of misconduct will be reported to the Dean’s office.
For quizzes you are ONLY permitted the use of:
All electronic communication is forbidden during quizzes, and all communication devices (including watches) must be placed in airplane mode and stowed away in bags at the front of the room. Use of any other materials, resources, or people is cheating and a violation of the academic conduct code. All work submitted in CH102 must be your work alone.
All work must be done on the quiz. Answers without supporting work will not receive credit. Points may be deducted for incorrect significant figures or units. All work, including units, must be shown to receive any credit.
The quizzes will be scanned and uploaded to GradeScope for grading by the course staff. In order for the quiz to be properly assigned to you, please make sure to write your name in the box provided, and your BU ID number on the top of ALL pages of the quiz. Please write legibly, in block letters (not cursive). Please use blue or black ink or pencil only – make sure that all marks are dark and readable.
Quizzes are graded and promptly returned to the class. As such, quizzes can only be taken at the scheduled day and time. Please make any plans, including travel, accordingly.

5 | Tues 8 August | Quiz #5 is based on all of the course material (lecture, textbook, discussion, and lab) up to and including Chapter 23 McQuarrie et al. |
Final quiz, (Tuesday 15 August 2023, 11am-1pm). The final quiz is based everything covered in CH102. The final will only be begin at the scheduled time, so please make end-of-semester plans accordingly.
