Leveraging Country Platforms for Climate Prosperity
- Starts12:00 pm on Friday, April 25, 2025
- Ends1:30 pm on Friday, April 25, 2025
In the years since the 26th Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow, Scotland, Country Climate and Development Platforms (‘Country Platforms’) have emerged as a tool aimed at catalyzing climate action at scale.
The V20 Finance Ministers (V20) has sought to leverage the country platforms approach to facilitate the implementation of Climate Prosperity Plans (CPPs), an initiative designed by the Climate Vulnerable Forum (CVF)-V20 to support climate-vulnerable nations transform climate risks into bankable opportunities. More than just a fully costed roadmap for low-carbon and climate-resilient development, a CPP is a long-term national investment and technology access strategy that focuses on the convergence of development, climate and nature.
How can country platforms support climate action? What are key design considerations? What have been some of the main obstacles to the effective implementation of country platforms? How might these obstacles be addressed at the design stage and at the implementation stage to leverage various stakeholders in supporting climate-resilient economic reforms?
On Friday, April 25 from 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM ET alongside the 2025 IMF/World Bank Spring Meetings, join us and the V20 for an expert panel discussion on how to leverage country platforms for climate prosperity. The program is scheduled for 1 hour with a 30-minute networking session.
