Elections

Faculty Council Officers

Faculty Council Chair, Vice-Chair, and Past-Chair: When the vice-chair is elected by the Faculty Assembly, they serve a four-year term: one year as vice-chair, two years as chair, and one year as past-chair. When the vice-chair is elected, it is with the understanding that they will succeed to chair after a year. The chair serves on the University’s Board of Trustees.

Faculty Council Secretary-Treasurer: The secretary-treasurer serves a two-year term and is eligible to be reelected for one additional term.

The candidates for Officer positions are put forth by the Nominating Committee. Elections are held every two years. The Officers represent the Faculty Assembly, not their school/college.

School & College Representatives and Alternates Elections

Under the Constitution of the Faculty Assembly/Faculty Council, Faculty Council representatives serve a term of two years and may serve no more than two consecutive terms. However, representatives can be elected as alternates, and alternates can be elected as representatives.

Each school or college is responsible for holding their own annual elections, but the Faculty Council office can provide assistance, if requested. Please see below for more information.
