Pennie Theodorou

Penelope Theodorou, is a Doctor of Public Health candidate at Boston University School of Public Health, specializing in Public Health Leadership, Policy, and Management. As the SHIELD Project Manager, she collaborates with experts to develop a school nurse leadership training institute. She was previously a Doctor of Public Health Fellow at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and led the Early Childhood Mental Health in Primary Care project at Children’s National Health System. Her diverse experience includes managing multimedia research training at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, designing mental health interventions at Emory University, and advocating for children at Casa De Los NiƱos. Penelope holds an MPH from Emory University and a BS in Public Health from the University of Arizona.

Research Interests: Systems change to improve equitable access to care for children and families with a specific focus on early childhood and maternal mental health. Passionate about working at the intersection of strategic planning, advocacy, and health communication to drive change
