
Mariet Benade
EWL 2024 Mentee
Mariet Benade is a Senior Research Fellow at Boston University School of Public Health, specializing in Global Health Program Design, Monitoring & Evaluation. Since March 2020, she has contributed to various impactful projects, including optimizing the national diagnostic network in Kenya and cost-effectiveness analyses for COVID-19 therapeutics and Hepatitis C treatments. She previously worked as a Systems Thinking for Health Intern at Management Sciences for Health and as a Doctor on Princess Cruises, managing crew members’ health and handling emergencies. Mariet holds an MPH from Boston University, a Diploma in Primary Emergency Care from the College of Medicine South Africa, and an MB, ChB in Medicine from Stellenbosch University. Her extensive experience in research, data analysis, and public health is complemented by her participation in global health electives and her active involvement in academic societies during her studies.
