
Doreen Mulenga

Doreen Mulenga is a public health physician with over 24 years of experience in clinical work, primary health care, and international public health. She served in senior leadership roles at UNICEF and within government agencies across Zambia, Botswana, Nigeria, the United States, Denmark, Jordan, and Uganda. Most recently, she was the UNICEF Representative in Uganda before retiring in 2020. Before joining UNICEF, Dr. Mulenga was the Deputy Manager of Zambia’s National HIV/AIDS, TB, and STD program, where she led national planning and coordination efforts. She earned her medical degree from the University of Zambia and a Master’s in Public Health from the University of Wollongong in Australia. Dr. Mulenga is also a mother of two sons.
