  • CISE is organizing the Best Student Paper Competition as part of the annual CISE Graduate Student Workshop 7.0.
  • Entrants will be judged using a dual student/faculty evaluation process.
  • Finalists are required to present their papers during the sessions at the CGSW 7.0 event.
  • Winner will be recognized with the Best Paper Award at the BU Castle reception. Awards will also be presented to the top selected finalists based upon their paper submission.  
  • CISE will once again host the Best Student Presenter Competition at CGSW.
  • Entrants will be judged by the CGSW 7.0 organizing committee.
  • Winner will be recognized with the Best Presenter Award at the BU Castle reception. Awards will also be presented to the top selected finalists. 

Eligibility Criteria

  1. The paper must represent original research conducted primarily by the student.
  2. While other authors may be listed on the paper, the student must have contributed the majority of the effort presented (advisors will be asked to certify the student’s majority effort).
  3. The paper must have been published or accepted for publication at a journal or conference within the past 24 months. 
  4. Papers posted on arxiv.org are not acceptable for submission.
  5. A full-length paper must be officially submitted via the web in pdf format.
  6. Papers must include three key words.
  7. Each student can only enter one paper in this competition.
  8. If the student’s paper is selected among finalists, s/he must present his or her paper during the assigned session at the CGSW 7.0 event.  

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Each student speaker will have 12 minutes to present, with an additional 3 minutes dedicated for  Q&A.
  2. The abstract must represent original research conducted primarily by the student.
  3. Speaker abstracts should include three key words.
  4. Abstracts should be submitted in PDF or MS Word format.

Evaluation Criteria

Your paper will also be evaluated based on:

  1. Significance and impact of work
  2. Creativity and innovation
  3. Completeness and quality of work presented
  4. Articulacy in writing and presentation
  5. Relevance to information and systems engineering, broadly defined.
