CISE Industry Roundtable Feb. 21, 2019
CISE-affiliate students are invited to attend a roundtable with Yasaman Khazaeni, currently a research staff member and manager at IBM, one of the world’s largest and most influential corporate research labs with over 50 years of research in Artificial Intelligence. At IBM, Yasaman has been working on applications in network systems, robotics, data-driven simulation models and natural language processing, conversational agents and dialogue systems.
Yasaman is a former student of Professor Christos Cassandras. During the roundtable luncheon, she will share her post-graduate experiences and insights with students.
Yasaman Khazaeni holds an undergraduate degree in both electrical engineering and petroleum engineering from Sharif University of Technology in Iran. In 2009, she continued her graduate studies in petroleum engineering at West Virginia University where she earned her master’s degree in reservoir engineering focusing on the application of Artificial Intelligence in reservoir modeling. Prior to that she received her PhD in Systems Engineering from Boston University where she focused on multi-agent systems control and optimization with a specific interest in event-driven systems. Her research interests are in the area of mathematical modeling, optimization, operations research, machine learning and statistics.
