Yigong Hu

Assistant Professor (ECE)

Yigong Hu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Boston University. His research focuses on building reliable, efficient, and observable large-scale computing systems. He studies cross-layer techniques that combine systems design, program analysis, and machine learning to diagnose performance issues, improve system reliability, and optimize resource efficiency in cloud and machine learning infrastructures. His research received a Best Paper Award at ASPLOS 2019.

Before joining BU in 2025, he was a postdoctoral fellow in the systems group at the University of Washington. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University and his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
