Yenifer worked in White Lab with mentor Oliver McRae. She worked on modeling and control of stainless-steel syringe liquid delivery. The aim of the study is to increase knowledge and understanding of flow rates of highly viscous liquids such as blood from stainless-steel syringe pump systems.
More about My Experience
Yenifer was born and raised in El Salvador until she moved to the United States four years ago.
Modeling and Control of Stainless-Steel Syringe Liquid Delivery: Over the summer of 2022, she participated in the White Lab with mentor Oliver McRae
Yenifer is completing her degree in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. After graduation, she wanted to take a gap year to work in the industry and then pursue her PhD. Her career goal was to create a research foundation and opportunities for low income students in El Salvador. She would love to provide the same opportunities she has received in the US for other Salvadorian students. In the future she also hopes to do research focused on Diabetes type 2, tissue engineering, or bacteria found in drinkable water and the effects it has mostly on low income communities.
