In 2021, Nico Pedroncelli participated in the Chen Lab making microtissues out of different cell types and collagen. He investigated the roles of different extracellular matrix proteins deposited from various stromal cells in microtissue wound models to better understand the mechanisms of wound healing and tissue formation.
More about My Experience
Due to COVID, Nico previously had limited research experience. His experience in the Chen Lab solidified his knowledge and passion for conducting research. He was always interested in tissue engineering and felt quite fortunate to be a part of CELL-MET
Nico graduated with a Bioengineering, Biomaterials, and Regenerative Medicine degree from the University of California-Los Angeles. He since went on to UCLA to pursue a PhD program in Bioengineering.
