Mia Boak is a summer intern with the Developing Minds Lab and a recent graduate from the University of California, Santa Cruz, with a Bachelor’s degree in Intensive Psychology. While at UC Santa Cruz, she worked as a research assistant for the Infant and Child Development Lab as well as the Sexual and Gender Diversity Lab. In her time with the Infant and Child Development Lab, Mia assisted with projects related to young children’s interactions with technology as well as parent-child collaborations in problem-solving. She is especially interested in understanding sociocultural influences on cognitive development and plans to pursue a PhD in Developmental Psychology to further explore these interests. Outside of research, Mia enjoys backpacking, working on various art projects, and trying new food!
