Anya Lydon

Anya Lydon is a Junior majoring in Psychology and minoring in Human Applied Development. Anya is specifically interested in examining how children think and learn about the social world. She hopes to apply what she learns to her interest in developmental and clinical psychology. She is from Huntington Beach, California, and has trained to become a professional ballet dancer for sixteen years prior to entering Boston University. Anya understands the pressures and demands of being a competitive athlete, and she is dedicated to becoming a clinical psychologist in the future to specialize in sports psychology, anxiety, depression, life transitions, eating disorders, and interpersonal relationships. She hopes to work alongside patients in the future to better understand their own personal mental battles while implementing cognitive-behavioral and dialectical behavioral frameworks. Outside of DML, Anya is also working at Boston University’s Center for Psychiatric Rehabilitation to help peer mentor those living with mental health challenges.
