- Project Coordinator for BILD
I am the project coordinator for BILD (Brain Imaging Language Development) a collaborative study between the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Boston University. BILD is currently enrolling and hopes to discover more about the brain bases of language deficits in individuals between the ages of 5 and 17 with and without autism spectrum disorder and/or language based learning disorders. I am also a part of the MAP (Measuring Autism Potential) study which aims to find novel ways of assessing receptive language abilities in people with autism spectrum disorders. Working with both studies affords me the opportunity to interact with a wide range of ages and abilities and fosters my interest in language development as well as the different types of communicative and behavioral strategies people use. Prior to joining ROADD I was the project coordinator of a collaborative study between the University of North Carolina and Northwestern focusing on the language and social-behavioral profiles of individuals with neurodevelopmental disabilities including fragile X syndrome and autism.
