Julianna Maccarone

My name is Julianna Maccarone. I am a first year Graduate student in Psychology here at BU. I received a Bachelors degree in Microbiology and Psychology from the University of Tennessee in 2010. Then I went on to receive my Masters in Public Health degree from St. George’s University in 2011. My primary research interest is in early life stress and the implications it has on physical and mental health in adult life. My overall goal is to combine my MPH with an advanced degree in psychology in order to bring global awareness to intervention strategies to combat childhood stress (specifically abuse) in hopes of producing a better quality of life for the adult population.

On a not-so-professional note, my biggest, most expensive, and possibly only hobby is traveling. I’ve been lucky enough to study, work, and live in various countries around the world including Greece, Grenada, and New Zealand. This is my first time in the New England region of the US, though, so I’m excited to finally add Boston to my list of places visited!

Alumni Update: Julianna graduated in 2014 with an M.A. in Psychology
