DRIVING IN CIRCLES
DRIVING IN CIRCLES: a new musical by Jay Eddy Directed by Sam Plattus DRIVING IN CIRCLES is a solo-ish new work that traverses the highway between confessional monologue, stand-up comedy, and rock concert. Set to a sometimes whispering, sometimes screaming folktronica score, DRIVING traces the aftermath of intimate violence—mapping our hero’s darkly funny, deeply felt, defiantly hopeful journey through the bodymind-altering landscapes of trauma towards something like happiness. Featuring Jay Eddy, Zach Fontanez, and Jordan Palmer. An exciting new show featuring the talents of collaborators from two of last season’s productions, EAT YOUR YOUNG and ALLIGATOR-A-PHOBIA IN 3D! Stage Manager: Fanni Horváth*, Scenic Design: Danielle DelaFuente, Lighting Design: Kevin Fulton, Costume Design: Eric Tran, Projection Design: Maria Servellon, Sound Design: Gage Baker, Voice/Text Coach: Ashleigh Reade “Eddy has undeniable stage presence and a startlingly elastic voice, able to coo and screech, howl and sing.” —The New Haven Independent
