Discrimination of Minorities in Europe: Differences, Similarities, and Intersections
Join us Friday, October 23, for a panel discussion on “Discrimination of Minorities in Europe” with Sultan Doughan, Eddie Bruce Jones, and Margareta Matache. Sultan Doughan is a post-doctoral fellow at BU’s Elie Wiesel Center. She is a is a cultural anthropologist interested in the question of secularism, religious difference, and race in the context of Europe and specifically Germany. Eddie Bruce Jones is Deputy Dean of the School of Law, Birkbeck College, University of London, and author of Race in the Shadow of Law: State Violence in Contemporary Europe (Routledge 2016). Margareta Matache is a Roma rights activist from Romania and director of the Roma Program at Harvard’s FXB Center for Health and Human Rights, where currently she works as an instructor.
