Dear Class of 2021 January Graduates,
I am writing with important information about Commencement for January 2021 graduates.
Since announcing plans for our ceremony in May, we have heard from many students and parents who were disappointed with the decision to include January 2021 graduates in our October celebration. We have reconsidered this decision and have worked through the logistics necessary to welcome January graduates. I am pleased to write to invite you to participate in our 2021 Commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 16.
There are some necessary steps that will be required prior to your return to campus for Commencement. Detailed instructions as to how to register to attend, enter the University testing cadence, and schedule your COVID test will be provided at a later date on BU’s Commencement website. In the meantime, please take a moment to complete this survey to indicate your plans for participation at the in-person All-University Exercises.
It is important to note that the in-person Commencement celebration is for graduates only; regrettably, we cannot offer the opportunity to invite family and friends. We are currently working on a plan to provide enhanced virtual access to the celebration so this important milestone in your life may be shared and enjoyed.
We hope that you will be able to join us on this special occasion. Although the format of Commencement will be different this year, we aim to provide an event that celebrates and acknowledges your hard work and accomplishments.
