Holiday Party to feature festive cheer
Boston University’s Holiday Party, open to all faculty and staff of the Charles River and Medical Campuses, will be held on Thursday, December 16, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Metcalf Hall in the George Sherman Union. Transportation will be provided from the Medical Campus.
This year’s theme, Winter Celebrations, will feature an ice sculpting contest. Team sculpting will take place on the evening of Tuesday, December 14, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the loading dock at 808 Commonwealth Ave. Sculpting tools will be provided by the Office of Personnel.
Professional ice sculptors will assist each team to sculpt its entries. Please bring a detailed sketch or picture of what your team would like its sculpture to look like, with proportionate measurements.
Ice sculptures will be judged on originality, relevance to the party’s theme, and artistic composition. A $25 gift certificate to Barnes & Noble at BU will be awarded to each team member for the ice sculpture that wins the popular vote and the one that wins the judges’ vote. There is a limit of 10 teams, with a maximum of 5 people per team. The deadline for registration is Friday, December 10, by 5 p.m. You may register online at http://www.bu.edu/personnel.
