Computing success. Six-year-old Tami show off her skills on a computer donated to the Roxbury Boys and Girls Club recently by the BU Medical Center as Carla Richards, BUMC’s community relations director, looks on. BUMC donated 48 refurbished computers to seven local community and civic organizations in October. Youngsters at the Roxbury club learn graphics applications as part of after-school and summer programs. “These computers are helping the students in our program, who are 6 to 18 years old, learn professional computer applications that are for the most part not taught in the schools,” says Murray Bass, clubhouse technology director at the Boys and Girls Club. “These technology skills are important as youth pursue their own interests through the use of technology and to assist in their future professional growth.” Photo by Frank Curran
