Kenneth Kaunda, former president of the Republic of Zambia and the current
Balfour African President-in-Residence at BU’s African Presidential
Archives and Research Center, will speak on AIDS in Africa on Thursday,
April 17, at 6:30 p.m., at the Tsai Performance Center. The first democratically
elected leader of Zambia has devoted substantial efforts to preventing
the spread of HIV/AIDS in Africa and is the founder of the Kenneth Kaunda
Peace Foundation, which fights disease and poverty in Africa. The free
lecture, followed by a question-and-answer session, is sponsored by the
