BU a foundation of certainty: Sorboni Banerjee (COM'02), this year's student speaker at Commencement, was optimistic that graduates of 2002 will be equipped to handle the uncertainties of the post-September 11 world. Banerjee noted that like a finely made watch, a BU education comes with a lifetime guarantee. "We can't know what the next minute holds," she said, "but we can have faith in ourselves as a product of Boston University ...Our education doesn't provide a guarantee that we will live in a perfect world. Rather, it lets us construct a way of living in one that's not perfect." Photo by Albert L'Étoile
