Tales of the city: Despite the national recognition she received in 1988 for her role in the film Moonstruck -- for which she won the Academy Award for best supporting actress and received both a New York Film Critics and a Golden Globe Award -- Olympia Dukakis (SAR'53, CFA'57, Hon.'00) has always remained close to the theater. The Obie award-winning actress, director, producer, and teacher has appeared in more than 126 off-Broadway productions and at regional theaters in the United States and Europe. She will be in residence at BU from January 14 to 19, giving master classes in acting and directing to CFA students. All members of the BU community are invited to attend an open discussion with Dukakis about her life in the arts on Wednesday, January 16, at 4 p.m. at the BU Concert Hall. Here she speaks to CFA students during a February 2000 visit. Photo by Vernon Doucette
