You light up my life: New Boston University Theatre banners, designed by Elissa Von Letkemann (SFA'02), display images of abstracted lights at night, with golden circles that can be interpreted as traffic lights, streetlights, or spotlights on a stage. "The theater committee was hoping to brighten up the building with banners that were exciting and vibrant, but didn't add more chaos to the already visually crowded stretch of Huntington Avenue," says Von Letkemann, whose design was chosen last year after a semester-long project involving her entire class. "I tried to come up with a design that reflected the lights of Huntington Avenue, the energy of the city of Boston at night, and the drama of the theater.
