Choice voices Once again, it was standing room only at the Annual Faculty Reading of the Creative Writing Program, held November 6 in the School of Management Auditorium. The event featured first-time appearances by playwright Kate Snodgrass (top right) and poet Geoffrey Hill (top left), whose latest book, Speech! Speech! was officially published the next day. Former U.S. Poet Laureate Robert Pinsky (bottom right) read poems from his acclaimed recent collection Jersey Rain, and Susanna Kaysen (bottom left), author of the bestselling personal history Girl, Interrupted, read an excerpt from a new memoir. The roster also included poet David Ferry, Nobel Laureate Derek Walcott, and fiction writer Leslie Epstein, director of the Creative Writing Program, who introduced the readers. Photos by Fred Sway |
