While BU has offered a language and liberal arts
program in Madrid for decades, practically the only
thing we can tell you about this 1950s picture is
that it was not taken in Spain. This is one of
those barely identified photographs from the
archives of Photo Services -- the negative is
marked "matador." The bullfighter is holding a 1949
leaflet promoting a corrida in Mexico to benefit
poor children. We can see the Charles River and
Cambridge out the window, which places him in a BU
office on Bay State Road. Can a reader tell us what
