Homecoming 1999
The final Homecoming and Parents Weekend
of the millennium featured the October 16 rededication of
Marsh Plaza and the sculpture honoring Martin Luther King,
Jr. (GRS'55). The plaza, built as the spiritual and physical
center of the Charles River Campus, was the object of a
five-month-long $1.5 million reconstruction effort. "The
materials may be new, but the spirit and sense of community
have brought us together to complete this magnificent
restoration project with a true understanding of pride and
ownership," said Sharon Ryan (SAR'70), a vice president of
the BU Alumni.
