Stump Tower
This brass
relief over the Tsai Performance Center's
exterior door got a good buffing this
summer, making it easier to see the detail
of the Boston Stump, the spiritual
ancestor of Charles River Campus
architecture. The Stump is the nickname of
the tower of Saint Botolph Church in
Boston, England. BU's original master plan
featured a Stump-inspired administration
tower at the center of the campus, but the
plan proved to be unfeasible.
