Exploring the Quantum World

CAS Associate Professor of Physics Bennett Goldberg helps two students use lasers and sensitive optical detectors to demonstrate that light can act as a particle and a wave simultaneously. Goldberg was a principal organizer of "Exploring the Quantum World," which took place on October 5 at BU. A day-long series of events for students from new England and the mid-Atlantic states who have demonstrated aptitude in the sciences, it featured several interactive workshops and a keynote address by Walter Lewin, an astrophysicist specializing in black holes and neutron stars, who teaches at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
