Billy Hajjar

Director, Transportation Services

Billy Hajjar, the Director of Transportation Services, joined Boston University in 2013, bringing with him over 16 years of experience in parking and transportation management within the City of Boston. Prior to being at BU, Billy was employed through SP+, transitioning from Facility Manager to Senior Manager II throughout the years. In these roles, he collaborated with marketing representatives and facility managers to promote parking programs, developed procedures to enhance customer service, operations, and revenue control, and coordinated capital improvements and PARCS upgrades with clients. Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Bentley University, Billy and BU have implemented several initiatives to reduce parking demand and decrease the University’s carbon footprint. These include: a 50% subsidized employee transit benefit, 50% subsidized employee parking at transit stations, a 50% discounted employee carpool permit, a $300 employee bicycle commuter reimbursement benefit, increased bicycle parking and end-of-trip facilities, a DIY bicycle repair shop with skilled mechanics, friction-free, touchless parking with license plate recognition, and a shift from an annual employee parking permit to a pay-as-you-park model. Currently, Billy oversees parking and transportation services for the Charles River Campus, including management of the shuttle bus service (The BUS) and implementation of the University’s Transportation Demand Management (TDM) program.
