The University’s Campus Climate Lab, which supports student-faculty teams in developing research proposals to make Boston University’s campus and operations more sustainable, drew international notice this year. A team of students—advised by Pamela Templer, chair and professor of biology, and Lucy Hutyra, professor of Earth and environment—researched landscape management practices on urban greenhouse gas budgets at BU. They not only published their findings in Carbon Balance and Management but also won the 2021 Campus Sustainability Research Award from the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education.
