Organic compounds and their reactions; functional groups, stereochemistry, synthesis, reaction mechanisms, and laboratory methods including qualitative organic analysis. Industrial applications and relevance to biological systems. Three hours lecture, one hour discussion, one hour prelab lecture, four hours lab.
