  • GMS PS 704: Introduction to Clinical Medicine
    The Introduction to Clinical Medicine course prepares the PA student to utilize the patient-centered interview and physical examination to assess pediatric, adult and geriatric patients. This course uses lectures, interview role play sessions and physical examination practica.
  • GMS PS 720: Disease and Therapy I
    This course prepares the PA student to apply knowledge of the epidemiology, clinical presentation, pathophysiology, diagnostic evaluation, differential diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of human disease to clinical patients. The course utilizes lectures and case-based discussions. While the full DRx course has six modules, DRx Foundations of Medicine I focuses on microbiology, infectious diseases, immunology and pharmacology. The course utilizes traditional lectures, case-based discussions and patient presentations for instruction. 4 cr. Fall sem. Co-lists with MS 220.
  • GMS PS 721: Disease and Therapy II
    This course prepares the PA student to apply knowledge of the epidemiology, clinical presentation, pathophysiology, diagnostic evaluation, differential diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of human disease to clinical patients. While the full DRx course has six modules, DRx Foundations of Medicine II focuses on cardiology and pulmonary medicine. The course utilizes traditional lectures, case-based discussions and patient presentations for instruction. 4 dr. Fall sem. Co-lists with MS 221.
  • GMS PS 722: Disease and Therapy III
    This course prepares the PA student to apply knowledge of the epidemiology, clinical presentation, pathophysiology, diagnostic evaluation, differential diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of human disease to clinical patients. While the full DRx course has six modules, DRx Foundations of Medicine III focuses on renal and gastrointestinal disorders. The course utilizes traditional lectures, case-based discussions and patient presentations for instruction. 4cr. Fall sem. Co-lists with MS 223.
  • GMS PS 723: Clinical Practicum I
    This course prepares the PA student to synthesize their basic science and clinical medicine knowledge to approach a patient. The PA student will also learn to create a portion of the medical record. The course utilizes traditional lectures, clinical reasoning sessions, journal clubs and hospital sessions for instruction. 2 cr. Fall sem.

    This course prepares the PA student to apply knowledge of the epidemiology, clinical presentation, pathophysiology, diagnostic evaluation, differential diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of human disease to clinical patients. While the full DRx course has six modules, DRx Foundations of Medicine VI focuses on psychiatry and neurology. The course utilizes traditional lectures, case-based discussions and patient presentations for instruction. 4cr. Spring sem. Co-lists with MS 226.
  • GMS PS 743: Clinical Practicum II
    This course prepares the PA student to synthesize their basic science and clinical medicine knowledge to approach a patient and builds on what they have learned in ICM and CP I. The PA student will also learn to create the entire medical record and develop their oral presentation skills. The course utilizes traditional lectures, clinical reasoning sessions, journal clubs and hospital sessions for instruction. 2 cr. Spring sem.
  • GMS PS 744: Preventive Medicine
    This course prepares the PA student to apply knowledge and counseling skills to prevent disease and encourage healthy behaviors. The PA student will also learn to develop a quality improvement project. The course utilizes traditional lectures, case-based discussions and patient presentations for instruction. 1 cr. Spring sem.
  • GMS PS 800: Internal MED 1
  • GMS PS 801: Internal Medicine I
    The Internal Medicine clerkship I prepares the student to practice as physician assistants in internal medicine. Students, as a part of an interprofessional team, will provide care to adult medical patients in inpatient and outpatient settings. 4 cr., Summer sem.
