Examines ecology and management of commercially valuable fishes and shellfishes in the Belizean Barrier Reef with emphasis on human impacts on species diversity and abundance. Topics include population dynamics, essential fish habitat, bioeconomics, sustainable harvesting and management institutions. Effective Fall 2019, this course fulfills a single unit in each of the following BU Hub areas: Oral and/or Signed Communication, Research and Information Literacy.
