Introduction to the heroic and romantic narrative literature of Iran and Afghanistan. Readings include: the Persian epic Shahnameh, romances by Nezami and Jami, and Sadi's Gulistan. Discussion of the endurance of Persian myths and tales in world literature and visual forms. Carries humanities divisional credit in CAS This course fulfills a single unit in each of the following BU Hub areas: Aesthetic Exploration, Global Citizenship and Intercultural Literacy.
