The purpose of this course is three-fold: (a) to understand the methodologies of each of the Niebuhr brothers; (b) to discern their similarities and differences; (c) to assess the extent to which the thought of each may or may not be a helpful resource for analyzing contemporary moral problems and providing ethical guidelines for their resolution.
