Form and analysis, and advanced chromatic harmonic practice, will be explored in music of the Romantic Era. Various analytical approaches will be covered, such as harmonic, melodic, and phrase structure/meter, as well as enharmonic relationships and reinterpretations, advanced modulatory techniques, and linearly derived harmonies. A keyboard-harmony component will be covered in separate weekly meetings.
