This course trains students in the lifesaving skills used in respiratory and cardiac emergencies. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) for adults, children, and infants is taught through lectures, readings, and videos, then reinforced through practice on manikins. Those who successfully perform practical skills become certified in Basic CPR through ECSI for two years. Class fee includes required textbook.
