CFA AR 526 This studio course is an in-depth exploration of video as a contemporary art form. Students will investigate the medium through a series of exercises designed both to develop video production skills and to engage the essential properties of video as an art practice. Screenings, lectures, discussions and brief readings will contextualize the history of video art and experimental film as it developed in relation to other art forms such as painting, sculpture, music, dance, and performance. Students will complete final projects in which they may choose to design and create single channel, multi-screen, installation or web-based works. 4 credits- 6 contact hours a week
