Zhu Xi: Philosophical and Religious Dimensions

Zhu Xi is a doctoral seminar study of the most influential Confucian thinker, Zhu Xi (1130-1200), of the last thousand years. The course will explore Zhu's role as a philosopher and public intellectual via an examination of his vast corpus; topics will include, among others, philosophy, ritual theory, and the religious dimensions of Zhu's thought.
