Prereq: consent of instructor. This course examines evolving ethical and legal issues in the biosciences. Students will study existing laws and legal cases pertaining to topics such as genetic testing, gene therapy, and forensic uses of DNA. Class discussions, student presentations, case analyses and in-class lectures will be supplemented with online activities as well as the composition of a legal brief. 4 cr, 1st sem.
