Introduction to the theory of punishment and the dynamics of the Uniform Code of Military Justice as they apply to the commissioned officer and his role as a leader. Students acquire a basic knowledge of apprehension, conduct of investigations, lawful search and seizure, and administration of nonjudicial punishment. The Law of Land Warfare as codified in the Geneva and Hague Conventions and the officer/leader role in its application are also discussed. Instruction is presented through a series of lectures, presentations, and student participation exercises. Students are also required to prepare a written After Action Report on Advanced Camp experience. One class period and one two-hour lab weekly.
