A consideration of the basic tasks of play direction from script selection through opening night, emphasizing script analysis and interpretation and their projection into staging. Prerequisites for Section A: two semesters each of acting and dramatic literature, one semester each of design/production (beyond Stagecraft) and Stage or Production Management, concurrent registration in Theatre Ensemble III—or permission of the instructor. Prerequisites for other sections: at least 12 credits in theatre courses or permission of the instructor. 2.0 credits
