University Honors College
The University Honors College (UHC) is a community of students and faculty engaged in a new approach to liberal education. Blending the arts, sciences, and professions, this program exposes students to the processes, practices, and products of research, invention, and creation, across a wide range of human endeavors and academic disciplines. The UHC offers the best of two worlds: the highly personal, individual atmosphere of a small liberal arts college and the resources of a large, diverse, urban research university.
The city of Boston—including its architecture, environment, and history—plays a central role to the UHC experience. Site visits to high-tech companies, master classes, and theatrical rehearsals will provide insight into the back story of scientific, artistic, technological, and political activity. In addition, students attend lectures, readings, and performances that complement the curriculum and give them the opportunity to interact with artists, scientists, writers, performers, physicians, judges, entrepreneurs, and educators.
