This course will cover the theory light propagation and manipulation in an optical fiber both in the linear and nonlinear regimes, and their applications to sensors and sensing systems. This course will meet twice a week for two hours, and will comprise lectures as well as laboratory experiments involving different types of fiber sensors. 4 cr.
