2025–2026 Bulletin Addendum Geneva Study Abroad Program
This Addendum entry reflects the addition of a new program.
Effective date: September 1, 2025
The Geneva Study Abroad Program is a one-term experience in Geneva that provides students the opportunity to explore the vibrant international environment of Geneva while earning units to advance their undergraduate degree. Students will complete coursework supported by academic excursions and experiences that provide context for Geneva’s unique place in international affairs including, among other topics, diplomacy, international public health, human rights, finance, and business.
Students enroll in four courses. Upon successful completion of the program, students earn 16 Boston University units.

Courses
Students must enroll in 4 courses/16 units.
Some courses carry prerequisites.
Students will select from among the following courses:
- CAS AH 308 History of Switzerland through Art
- CAS IR 418/PO 247 Politics, Nations, and Identity in Europe
- CAS IR 445/PO 243 Intro to Public International Law
- CAS LF 113 Intensive Beginning French
- CAS LF 211 Third-Term French
- CAS LF 212 Fourth-Term French
- SPH PH 506 Principles of Public Health
Learning Outcomes
- Develop new perspectives on one’s own culture and the ability to think critically about one’s personal and national values, histories, and goals.
- Demonstrate awareness of cultural difference and culture’s role in shaping beliefs and practices.
- Demonstrate knowledge of appropriate political, economic, social, cultural, or historical factors through course content specific to the individual’s choice of curriculum.
